I just read my last post – “Absence Makes the Writing Beast Grow Fonder” and realize that if it were true, then the writing beast must be very fond indeed. I haven’t posted since May – end of May mind you – and that’s just too long.
It’s August for crying out loud! And I haven’t written like I’ve wanted. Sometimes life gets in the way (what an excuse, you say!). Actually, I need to write what I have been living…or should I?
Someone once told me that when you’re going through a major life crisis then you shouldn’t tweet or blog. While I’m not sure I agree with that advice, I do know that going through a major life crisis may paralyze your social media presence – and it rightly should. Nothing is more important than dealing with a crisis and sometimes tweeting and blogging can be an unnecessary distraction. Sometimes, though, it can be a release.
I’m not going to over-analyze like I tend to. I will say, however, that what life offers is good writing fodder and paying attention and living in the moment is important if you want to write about it.
Am I going through a major life crisis? I don’t know. Whenever I think things are bad, I quickly learn they could be worse. My problems are someone else’s blessings in disguise. Hell, they’re my blessings in disguise sometimes. I have a hope that it will all work out in the end.
Till then, I’ll just remain fond of that writing beast.
